May 25, 2010 — On Sat, May 29 I'll be signing copies of Acadia: The Complete Guide at Sherman's Bookstore in Bar Harbor, Maine from 6–9pm! Sherman's is located at 56 Main Street in Bar Harbor.
August 24, 2009—On August 23, I was taking photos at Thunder Hole in Acadia National Park when several people were washed into the sea due to 15-20-foot waves caused by Hurricane Bill. My photos show the power of the waves that day and the heroic Coast Guard rescue of one man. Tragically, a young girl who was among those swept away by the wave lost her life. I hope these photos will convey the power and danger of stormy seas in Acadia.
March 14, 2009 — In late May I'll be teaching a five-day photography workshop in California's Sierra Nevada Mountains. The trip, organized by OARS, features two days of rafting on the Tuolumne River and three days of hiking in Yosemite National Park (including Half Dome!) Click here for more info.
Dec 18, 2008 — Another year full of adventures and misadvetures. Hiked through dense jungles in southern Costa Rica, wandered the narrow cobblestone streets of Casco Viejo, Panama, drank a bottle of aguardiente in Cartagena, Colombia, and spent two weeks trekking in the Hajar Mountains of eastern Oman. Whew! I'll post photos soon...
November 7, 2007 — Capped off a whirlwind summer/fall in Acadia, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, and Joshua Tree. Spent a few weeks in Joshua Tree shooting a rock climbing TV pilot and putting the finishing touches on the latest edition of my Joshua Tree book, which hits stores March, 2008.
June 4, 2007 — Just got back from shooting rafting trips on the Merced and Tuolumne rivers in California and the Green and Yampa rivers in Dinosaur National Monument in Colorado/Utah.
November 27, 2006 — A great piece about me in the Bangor Daily News here.
October 1, 2006 — Today I was a guest on Travel Talk Radio. Check out my interview here.
September 22 , 2006 — OK ... got some catching up to do. Been traveling all summer. Here's the summary: Photographed three rafting trips (in Idaho, Arizona, British Columbia), spent several weeks backpacking in Yosemite (Clark Range, John Muir Trail, Young Lakes/Mt. Coness, Mt. Lyell ... the list goes on), and managed to squeeze in five weddings (as a guest, not a photographer). Oh yeah, the Olympics were a blast. I spent almost all my time in the alpine town of Sestriere with the U.S. Ski Team. You can check out my photos here.
February 4, 2006 — Tomorrow I leave for the Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy. I'll be taking behind-the-scenes photos of events, venues, and post-victory parties for Yahoo! Sports. Check it out here. Arrivederci!

October 15, 2005 — Just wrapped up a 22-mile, rim-to-rim backpack through Grand Canyon. I'm pleased to report that Grand Canyon is still there, and still Grand.
August 20, 2005 — Just got back from a week-long Yosemite backpack through Matterhorn Canyon in the northern reaches of the park. Spectacular! Crystal clear skies, snow-capped peaks, oceans of sparkling granite. Paradise on Earth? Naaah. Just another day in Yosemite...
